Letter from John Whicker - 2007 Campaign Chair

“If we don’t, who will?” Over the years, I have grown to appreciate the community in which we live. Wells County is a great place to live and work because we are a caring community. The “caring” takes place in helping residents to and from medical appointments via “Wells on Wheels”, it takes place with a program that helps children get ready to learn at school just to mention two services being funded by the United Way. Caring takes place in providing for childhood development, the health and safety of our community as well helping people achieve self-sufficiency.

Through your financial support of the United Way of Wells County, we can sustain and raise the level of caring for all Wells County residents. If we don’t help ourselves, who will? There are a number of good not-for-profit organizations that compete for our charitable giving. The United Way of Wells County is unique in its broad based approach in analyzing all of the needs of our community and providing funding to meet those needs.

Please consider a financial gift to make our community stronger and an even better place to live and work.

John Whicker
